I offer setup and repair services for stringed instruments, tailored to your individual needs.

Your playing style and your specific preferences are an important part of doing a good setup - such as genre, techniques used, string gauge, preferred action, etc. I'm always happy to tweak a setup after completion for no charge if it isn't to your liking - setups are a very personal thing, so sometimes a secondary adjustment can be necessary, especially with changes in the weather and humidity - don't be afraid to reach out if this is the case!

Basic setup/service Guitar and Bass: 

From $137.50 - this will include all setup adjustments necessary and making sure all hardware and electronics are operating and fastened correctly. Plus light clean/polish, clean and polish frets and clean/oil fretboard as necessary. Plus strings of your choice or by my recommendation

+ $68.75 - Floating tremolos, Floyd-Rose etc.

+ $34.38 - 12-string guitars

+ $68.75-$137.50 - Deep cleaning for very dirty instruments - includes full disassemble of all hardware and clean/polish of all hardware, cavities and body/neck, excessive fretboard gunk, rust treatment as necessary/requested)

Fret dress - from $275-$370 - includes service/setup as above in addition to levelling frets under string tension, crowning and polishing all frets, and reseating loose/lifted frets as required

Nut/saddle - $240.65 + material. Replace broken or worn nut or saddle with material of choice or bone by default, including setup/service (see top)

Wiring work - from $115.00 plus parts. This includes any standalone wiring/electronics repair or modification work for standard electric guitar/bass wiring harnesses. Unique or complex harnesses will be quoted individually. Electronics repairs will incur less labour if taking place in conjunction with a service/setup.

+ $68.75 - Hollow-body electric guitars or other instruments with more labour required to access components

Refret - quoted by job, full re-frets start at approximately $550 plus fret wire, strings. Includes remove and replace frets, level fretboard where necessary, new nut, level crown and polish all frets and setup/service. Your choice of fret-wire or by my recommendation (I generally recommend stainless frets as it will require less maintenance over time - it will cost a little more upfront, but will save you money with fewer fret dresses in the long-term, but it is your choice to make!)

Some common extra costs include:

+68.75 New saddle, (acoustic guitars/basses) as required, or adjust bolt-on neck angle w/fitted maple shim

+$137.50 Bound necks

+$68.75 Ebony or other fragile fretboard material

+$137.5 Finished maple board, no board levelling or refinishing

Structural repairs - are quoted by job at $137.5 per hour. Most routine repairs (crack repairs, replacing/fitting bridges, broken headstocks etc) range from around 1-3 hours, plus parts/materials.

I don't currently offer refinishing services, but can recommend some excellent places around the north-side

All work and parts are guaranteed for 90 days. This does not include accidental or deliberate misuse or damage
